This larger-than-life bronze statue of Hadrian was found by an American tourist named Morton Leventhal in the Jordan River Valley in 1975. It probably dates from the last years of Hadrian’s reign, after the suppression of the Bar Kokhba revolt. All in all, 175 statues and busts of Hadrian have survived.
